Okay sis, I need to ask you something. Who told you that January was the only right time to begin? Because somewhere between the vision boards, the word-of-the-year posts, and everybody announcing their big plans, we started treating January like it was the only month God could give instructions. So now it’s August. Maybe the business is still an idea in your head. Maybe you bought the domain but never built the website. Maybe you wrote down the offer, questioned the whole thing three days later, and quietly went back to doing what everybody else needed you to do. And now you feel behind. You look at women who have already launched, already found clients, already figured out the technology, and you start wondering, “Ugh! How did it get this late? I guess I should wait until January again.” Listen, it got late because you have a whole life. You have a corporate job that takes more out of you than anybody sees. You may be raising children, caring for aging parents, trying to keep your marriage spicy, managing a household, and dealing with a body that doesn’t always cooperate with the color-coded plan in your calendar. You’re not 25 with no mortgage, no caregiving responsibilities, and eight uninterrupted hours to build a business. But that doesn’t make you late. It means your starting point has to honor the life you’re actually living. Get this, you don’t need to catch up on everything I have taught since January. You don’t need to go back and complete every worksheet, build every system, or follow some imaginary timeline before you’re allowed to move. You just need to begin from where you are. Right here. With the time you have, the experience you have, and the next step God has put in front of you. Because you can waste the rest of this year feeling ashamed about what you didn’t do in the first seven months, or you can decide that August 3rd is a perfectly good day to obey God. And no, I’m not telling you to quit your job, burn your life down, and announce a new business by next Monday. I’m telling you to stop making “I didn’t start then” mean “I can’t start now.” Those are two completely different things. Maybe your start is writing down the problem you know how to solve. Maybe it’s finally telling one trusted person about your business/ministry idea. Maybe it’s opening the notebook you’ve been avoiding because seeing the dream on paper makes it feel a little too real. Whatever it is, do that. No catching up or shame spiral or even trying to become a different woman before you begin. Just one faithful move from the woman you are today. Hit reply and finish this sentence: I have been putting off __________, but I can start by __________. I want to hear what your “right now” start looks like. Talk to ya Thursday. Monique P.S. If God hasn’t told you that you missed your moment, stop letting comparison make that decision for Him.
